To the surprise of many, Pixar and Disney announced this week that their upcoming releases would include the fifth part of the ‘Toy Story’ saga. Four years after the last and unexpected film of Andy’s famous toys and the 2022 premiere of the spin-off ‘Lightyear’, the studios have decided to continue a story, which for many was already closed, counting once again on the participation of Tim Allen as Buzzwhich, however, was not in the space cadet film.
Buzz Lightyear appeared to be directly associated with actor Tim Allen, who voiced the toy until last year. Although Allen said that at the time he was present when the idea of making a film about Buzz was born, which he said “that would be so much fun”. But Pixar decided to make a film centered around the astronaut who inspired the toy, and to differentiate them, they opted for different voice actors. At the time Allen told Extra that the film “it has a completely different team that has nothing to do with the first four films”. Said film, whose dubbing ended up being done by Chris Evans, couldn’t wait and eventually ended up generating losses.
Buzz’s return with the group of toys again attracts Allen’s attention, who will bring the character back to life. The actor announced it on Twitter, suggesting that we will also see the cowboy played by Tom Hanks in the original version, whose paths separated at the end of ‘Toy Story 4’: “See you soon Woody, you are a sad, strange little man and you have my compassion.
