While the premiere of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ was a success during its theatrical release in Mexico, the film’s director, Rhys Frake-Waterfield, has revealed that he wants to create a horror universe with classic Disney characters. And now he has his sights set on “Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare,” where his characters will take a horror turn.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, Rhys Frake-Waterfield has revealed new details of ‘Peter Pan: The Nightmare of Neverland’, the upcoming horror film adaptation of one of Disney’s most iconic characters, which was confirmed a few months ago. The director of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ will also take advantage of the fact that the rights to the characters will soon become public knowledge.
Waterfield says he’s working on “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare’, a new horror film in which Tinkerbell will now become a fairy suffering from obesity morbid and is in the midst of a process of overcoming his addiction to drugs. For the uninitiated, this will be an adaptation of the original story and bear no relation to subsequent adaptations.
According to the director himself, wants to create an MCU-style horror movie universe. This would consist of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” and its sequel, as well as “Bambi: The Reckoning” and “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”: “The idea is that we’ll try to imagine that everyone is in the same world, so we can have crossovers,” Waterfield said.

Bambi vs Winnie the Pooh in a horror movie
While the director is already working on the next installments of what will become his horror franchise, he says that “people have been sending messages saying they really want to see Bambi vs. Pooh” on the big screen. Therefore, it is possible that, after their individual installments, all these characters will meet in a mega horror film in the style of “Avengers: Endgame”.
It is possible that, like Poog and Piglet in the film, in “Peter Pan Neverland Nightmare” the eternal child becomes an assassin with the help of Tinker Bell, but in his worst state, which perhaps grants him more than youth and the ability to fly , if not other powers with which he can stalk his victims.
If all goes as planned, Waterfield will have three characters on his hands, and he’s also said he wants to do the same with Thor. So maybe in a few years the princesses, heroes and toys that were once Disney’s flagships will now be transformed into horror movie killers.
