Last week we shared the teaser trailer for the Rakuten Super Bowl commercial starring Alicia Silverstone returning to the role of Cher Horowitz from her 1995 hit comedy, In the dark. This was a no-brainer since Rakuten is a shopping site and the Clueless character was all about shopping to fill her revolving closet.

The commercial also features Elisa Donovawho played Amber in the film, as well as fashion designer Christian Siriano.
Entertainment Weekly asked Silverstone to bring the character back to life and she replied:
“She’s one of cinema’s longest-running shopaholics. So the idea that she would be able to use this app would be the biggest hack ever.” The actor added that returning as Cher “was really nice” and that he initially wondered how she should prepare for returning to her role before deciding to dive in and make it happen. “I had no idea whether or not I could do it, but I just did it. And I enjoyed it.”
She looks great and it’s a lot of fun to see her come back. I don’t like seeing my Super Bowl commercials before game day, because that’s the best part, but that’s just one, and I like seeing how it’s done. Check it out below and enjoy!
