Imagine what would happen if you mix the plot of ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ with ‘The Ring’, because you don’t have to imagine the result, because it’s ‘Re/Member’, a Japanese horror film released in theaters last year, but it just arrived on Netflix this February, perfect for a day of hugs between very scared lovers.
This It opens on February 14th ‘Remember’ on Netflixand is about the adaptation of ‘Karada Sagashi’, which in turn is a manga based on the novel of the same name released in 2013. The pages of the manga were created by Welzard and Katsutoshi Murase, and it was very successful when it was released in 2018, as well as its big screen adaptation, which hits Japanese theaters in 2022.
It’s a Japanese horror film about teenagers in the style of the old classics of the eighties genre. ‘Remember’ is known in Spanish as ‘looking for a body’, and as can be seen in the trailer, it’s about a group of students who are “doomed to repeat the same day until they fulfill their mission: find the body,” quotes the Netflix synopsis.
‘Re/member’ is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, who has worked on titles such as ‘Assassination Classroom: Graduation’ or ‘They Can’. The story stars Kanna Hashimoto, Gordon Maeda, Maika Yamamoto, Fuju Kamio, Kotoro Daigo, among others. It runs for an hour and 42 minutes, making it perfect for an intense horror session.

The story of ‘Re/Member’ on Netflix
According to the synopsis of ‘Re/Member’, the story follows “Asuka, Takahiro and four other high school students must spend the night finding the scattered remains of a body hidden within their school, or risk being killed again and Still. from the “Red Person” and repeat the same day forever. Can they get out of the killer loop and see tomorrow? A deadly and exhilarating climax awaits in this ultra-thrilling, looping horror experience.
A film that exploits anger for survival stories, in which the protagonists have to risk their lives in a macabre game, to find a prize greater than themselves. Premise from which titles such as the recent ‘The Squid Game’ have taken advantage of, but which has been inherited by ‘Battle Royale’.
Also, the component of dying until you achieve your goals is something that “Edge of Tomorrow” with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt achieved, and which is also based on a successful manga. If you wanted a horror movie for February 14th, you already have the perfect tape to put together a romantic date.
