The infamous Arthur Mitchell, better known as the Trinity Killer, who was introduced Right Season 4 may be getting its own spinoff series on Showtime! Yep, you heard right, the fan-favorite Dexter villain could be returning in a new show, according to recent reports.
The report comes from The Wall Street Journal, and Showtime is also considering spinoffs based on the backstories of other compelling characters in the franchise. They say, “Showtime is also exploring separate spinoffs based on the previous stories of compelling Dexter characters, including one known as the Trinity Killer.”
Despite John Lithgow’s, it seems unlikely that he will return to the role as the Trinity Killer met his end in the original series and Lithgow has aged 15 years since filming. Hence, this should be a prequel series and a younger actor should be cast in the role.
It was also previously revealed that we may get a prequel series based on Dexter’s younger years, and if that happens, it will be the first. I like the idea of exploring the past of the Trinity Killer, though! He has an interesting past, and here’s how his story is detailed:
Arthur Mitchell was born in Tampa, Florida and lived in a two-story house for most of his young life. One day in 1959, an event marked him forever. Like a curious ten-year-old, he stood in the bathroom doorway, watching his older sister, Vera, take a shower. When she spotted him in the mirror, she slipped, shattering the shower doors. A shard of glass cut her leg and she bled to death in front of him.
It was a blow to the whole family and they moved to Miami. Her mother, Marsha, became increasingly depressed, culminating in her suicide by jumping off a bridge in 1960. This left Arthur alone with his alcoholic father, Henry, who was verbally and physically abusive. In 1964, Henry was found bludgeoned to death in an alley near a bar (presumably by Arthur, who was nineteen at the time).
After graduating from college, Arthur worked as a high school teacher. He met Lorraine Hill and they had a daughter. After Arthur’s relationship with Lorraine ended, he and Christine only met on holidays and on her birthday.
Arthur then married Sally and they had two children: Jonah and Rebecca.
At an unknown time, Arthur joined the organization known as Four Walls One Heart, which was building homes across the country. He has started using these trips as an alibi for his killing cycles.
Michael C. SalaThe star of the franchise, who previously hinted that anything is possible with the Dexter franchise in an interview on the Lipps Service podcast, said: ‘I’ve learned to never say anything. pretty definitive, but I don’t have any dates to set when I’m pretending to play that guy again.I’m proud of the entire series and happy that we revisited the character and gave the show the ending it needed.
It looks like the Dexter series will eventually continue with a number of prequel series projects, and I can’t wait! Trinity Killer prequel could be fascinating! What do you think?
