Later this year, Marvel will launch its own tabletop RPG, Marvel Multiverse RPG with the Basic regulation. However, the team isn’t shy about their plans for future content. For example, we know that much later this year fans will be able to enjoy it Kang’s Cataclysm and it was recently announced that an Expansion of the X-Men will be released in 2024!
THE Basic regulation launches August 2 with pre-orders now open from your favorite local game stores. Inside, players and game masters will find revamped rules based on fan responses to playtest material for a “fun, fast, dynamic game[.]You’ll find quick character creation rules, explosive combat, hundreds of powers, and even full profiles for famous Marvel heroes and villains. The only things you need besides the book are three six-sided dice and some friends.
After Basic regulation launches, fans will be able to add Kang’s Cataclysm to their libraries. This is an adventure book with new character profiles and a short campaign of six interconnected adventures. These adventures can also be played as an anthology with different characters each time. Kang’s Cataclysm AND Basic regulation are written by Matthew Forbeck (The Marvel Encyclopedia) with cover of Iban Coello.
Then, in 2024, fans will be able to expand their mutant games with the Expansion of the X-Men. This will be the first full-sized source book and will bring dozens of new profiles for characters from X-Force, New Mutants, and Marauders; color maps of famous places like Krakoa and the Xavier Institute; and more campaign twists.
