‘The Snow Girl’, among the most watched Netflix series in the world, reaches number 1 global for one day

In less than a week, “The snow girl” is killing it. The miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Javier Castillo is breaking records and, after today conquering the place of most viewed series in Spain, it has also positioned itself as one of the most watched series on Netflix worldwide, reaching the first position in the world top yesterday.

The Spanish production starring Milena Smit narrates the disappearance of a girl named Amaya during the Kings Parade in 2010. Smit plays Miren, a trainee journalist who decides to investigate on her own with the help of her mentor and teacher Eduardo. The rest of the cast is made up of Jose Coronado, Aixa Villagrán, Tristán Ulloa, Loreto Mauleón and Raúl Prieto.

The author of the novel saga is full of thanks to all the fans. In 44 countries, “The snow girl” has already entered the top 10 and has more than 31,830,000 viewed hours. Similarly, the novel that Castillo published in 2010 achieved great recognition, becoming a bestseller and the most read book in childbirth.

Will it stay on top?

Although the series was in the lead yesterday, according to data collected today by Netflix it has dropped a couple of places, with the second season of ‘Ginny and Georgia’ leading the world leader, with over 55 million hours watched, after four weeks in the top 10. Something logical in the case of the Spanish miniseries’ first week in the top 10 since its premiere on January 27.
