‘Logan’ director wants to make a new horror film ‘Swamp Thing’.

There have been so many projects and announcements from the current director of DC Studios, James Gunn, that each of them is attracting attention in one way or another. Now, director James Mangold, responsible for ‘Logan’, is in talks with Warner Bros. Discovery and wants to direct the new ‘Swamp Thing’ horror film within the EUDC.

As much as it pains Alan Moore to have his works touched, Swamp Thing will once again have a shot at the big screen. According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, James Mangold is in talks to direct ‘Swamp thing’, the new reboot of the character, and which will now be presented within the DC Extended Universe, as part of James Gunn’s plans.

Also, via Twitter, James Mangold has confirmed his interest in ‘Swamp thing’ when he shared a panel of the character, and Gun later retweeted it, which seems to confirm that the two have indeed met recently. According to the projects announced by Kevin Feige of DC, between films and series for HBO Max, this would be the last appointment of the first chapter of the EUDC, entitled ‘Gods & Monsters’.

What would the new horror movie ‘Swamp Thing’ be about?

As some of you know, James Mangold is the director of ‘Logan’, one of the most acclaimed superhero films of all time, but he also has other outstanding stories, such as ‘Against the Impossible’ or ‘3:10 Dangerous Mission’. Though he also took over Hugh Jackman’s previous solo installment, ‘Wolverine: Immortal’, and is now working on the fifth installment of ‘Indiana Jones’.

At the moment there is no official confirmation of the director in the Swamp Thing reboot, but given the horror tone of ‘Swamp Thing’, the story follows a supernatural entity that defends its territory, as well as the environment. Behind its storyline, the monster has quite a strong political message, especially in the arc that Alan Moore worked on in the 80s.
