jessie james decker the sultry voice shines in her latest duet with an old friend Billy Currington, “I still love you.” The singer said HollywoodLife.com that she “loves” the single, as it brings out what she calls “the real sound”. “I love it. This is the kind of music I’ve always wanted to make,” she tells HL in an EXCLUSIVE interview. While Jessie’s other songs like “Flip My Hair” and “Should Have Known Better” are absolute jams. , “I Still Love You” offers a raw, stripped-down listen in its chunky range and luscious vocals.
“It’s hard sometimes…but that’s the real me and it was really cool to do it. Billy really encouraged me to do it. And that’s the kind of music I should be making and want to be making. It’s the real me,” she continued. Jessie recalled meeting Billy when she was 17 and he came to perform at a charity event near his school. “I’m a singer. One day I’m going to open for you on tour and sign in Nashville. And we work together. He was like, ‘Oh really? Are you any good?'”
Jessie remembered to give the “Good Directions” singer her info and a demo tape, and Billy introduced her to the publisher he’s still with. “She was a big part of me coming to Nashville, so I will always be grateful to her,” she told HL. “Fast forward, it made sense for Billy to do the song with me. He’s my favorite singer in Nashville and one of my closest friends.”
