ABBA are responsible for some of the greatest hits of all time. More than 50 years after the disco group’s formation, ABBA continue to be loved by fans, both by those who have heard them since their debut and by new fans who discovered them years after their heyday. Formed in 1970, the group (consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, And Years Frid Lyngstad) released eight albums, before his last record in 1981 (OR visitors). Though they never formally disbanded, the group held their last public performance in 1982, but their legacy lives on! His songs like “Dancing Queen” and “Gimmie! Gimme! Gimme! are staples for weddings, bar mitzvahs, or any excuse to party. The band was the inspiration for the jukebox musical. my motherwhich was later adapted into a big movie!
After decades of hiatus, the group reformed in 2016 and released their first album in 40 years in 2021 with Voyage. The band are also set to return live with a London residency in 2023. The album was a hit not only with fans, but also with critics and peers. ABBA’s latest album is celebrated with four nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Voyage was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album and the coveted Album of the Year award. Lead single “Don’t Shut Me Down” was also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, as well as Record of the Year. If ABBA wins Sunday February 5, it will be the first time they have won a Grammy Award. Agnetha Faltskog

Agnetha, 72, began her solo career before meeting Björn, also a member of ABBA, to whom she was married from 1971 until they filed for divorce in 1979. The former boyfriends have two children. Beautiful, 49, and Peter, 45. Agnetha also has three grandchildren. After ABBA disbanded, she released three solo albums in the 1980s and also married her second husband. Thomas Sonnenfeld in 1990, but the couple divorced three years later.
After releasing his 1987 solo album I am alone, Agnetha withdrew from public life for some time. “Maybe I was a recluse for a few years. I was so tired when ABBA disbanded and I just wanted to be calm and with my kids,” she said in a 2013 interview with Daily mail. After her parents’ deaths, she revealed that she took up yoga and meditation, while focusing on her family during her time away from the public eye.
In 2004, Agnetha returned to music with the album my coloring book and occasionally made public appearances both on video and at events, such as the opening of my mother with his fellow ABBA. She has released another solo album, simply titled ONE in 2013, and later joined his fellow ABBA members Voyage and the next residency in London.
Bjorn Ulvaeus

He wrote music with fellow ABBA member Benny Andersson for the musical Chess in 1984, as well as the 1995 Swedish show Cristina Fran Duvemala. Naturally, both also had a hand Oh mama. Outside of his musical commitments, Björn has also remarried. He married his second wife, a music writer. Lena Källersjo, in 1981, and they have two daughters Emma, 41, and ANA, 36.
Björn also continued to make occasional public appearances and contributions to the Eurovision Song Contest, such as composing the anthem for the 2013 contest together with the late DJ. Avicii. It also helped the Swedish producer andeas carlsson in creating an English adaptation of a jukebox musical. In 2020, he was also elected president of CISAC, a non-profit organization that helps artists with copyrights, in the midst of the ABBA meeting.
benny andersson

Benny Andersson, 76, also had success before ABBA as the keyboardist for rock band Hep Stars. For much of ABBA’s original run, Benny was in a relationship with colleague Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and they married in 1978, but separated in 1981, shortly before the group’s breakup. He married his second wife. Mona Norklit in 1981, and the couple had their first child ludwig, 41 the following year. Benny also has a son and daughter from a previous relationship. Ludvig is also a producer on recent ABBA reunions.
Outside of his collaborations with Björn, Benny has also started a new band called Benny Andersson Orkester (Benny Andersson’s Orchestra), which has released eight albums from 2001 to 2019. He has also written many songs for films, including the 1987 film. mine in the distant land and 2000s second-rate songs. He also reviewed his musical legacy in the 2017 album. Piano, which features solo piano versions of ABBA songs and musicals he co-wrote with Björn.
Years Frid Lyngstad

Like her bandmates, 77-year-old Anni-Frid Lyngstad released a few songs before ABBA. Her first solo album was produced by her future bandmate and husband Benny. She was married once before Benny and had two children: Hans, 60, and ANA, died in a car accident in 1998 at the age of 30.
After ABBA disbanded, Anni-Frid (who is often referred to as Frida), released a Phil Collinssolo album produced something is happening in 1982, which he followed up with Splendor in 1984. She released another Swedish solo album in 1996. Despite not releasing any more albums, Frida occasionally collaborated with other artists and played concerts.
In 1982 Frida moved to Switzerland with her boyfriend. Prince Enrico Ruzzo de Reuss, Count of Plauen. The two married in 1992, but the prince died after a battle with lymphoma in 1999. He is currently dating Henry Smith, 5th Viscount Hambleden since 2007.
