Not only are moviegoers eager for a return to the films that raised DreamWorks studios, actor Eddie Murphy, who plays Donkey in the original version, confesses it on ETalk would be happy to play the character again: “I’d be open to doing another ‘Shrek’, I’d sign in two seconds, I love Donkey”said Murphy.

However, Murphy goes further. ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ brought the feline and the Far Far Away franchise back to the big screen last December. It is the second spin-off made on the character of Antonio Banderas (the first: ‘Puss in Boots’). The premiere of another cat movie is something Murphy has given to ponder, the actor He says he doesn’t understand how a film about his character isn’t already in progress: “They should have made a movie about the donkey, it’s funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean… I love Puss in Boots, but it’s not as funny as the Donkey”said Murphy, inevitably choosing his loquacious character.

In the interview Murphy hypothesizes and encourages the desire for a fifth installment of “Shrek” or the Donkey spin-off. However, the actor admits that, No matter how much he wants, it’s not a decision up to him: “It’s a DreamWorks thing, they must want to do it”.

Where is “Shrek 5”?

Christopher Meledandri, the founder of Illumination Entertainment, confirmed in an interview for Variety in 2018 that the revival of the franchise it was a reality.
