When the Lucasfilm animation team started working Star wars the battle of the clones series, George Lucus he had no intention of getting involved. He would be very detached and would only meet Dave Filoni and the team once or twice a year, but that all changed when he saw they were ‘making cinema’ and at that point he wanted to be much more involved!

During a recent interview with /Film, writer Henry Gilroy she shared that Lucas initially told them, “I’m retired. I may see you guys once a year, maybe twice a year. You guys are doing it. I won’t be around.
Lucas wasn’t involved at all Genndy Tartakovsky’S The Clone Wars cartoon, and Gilroy said he feels that “Lucas initially saw The Clone Wars like a cartoon before and Star Wars second.” So what exactly changed Lucas’ mind with the CGI series that Filoni was developing?
According to Gilroy, it was all about proportions. It is explained that Lucas saw that the series was being developed in a 2:35:1 widescreen format and realized, “Oh, you guys are making cinema.” It is at this point that the director suggested turning the first four episodes into a film.
Lucas liked what he saw so much that he couldn’t help but want to get involved and ended up meeting The Clone Wars creative team once a week. Filoni, Lucas and that team certainly put on an amazing show!
