From Jagged Edge Productions, the makers of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honeyand Devil Works comes a new movie, Medusa venom. The Sequel to the Horror of the Serpent, Jellyfish, the film will follow Lola, a newcomer welcomed into Medusa’s circle. After enduring a ritual to bring her closer to her sisters, she discovers that what awaits her is more influential and dangerous than she ever imagined, awakening the serpent within her. Directed by Chase Martins and written by Craig McLearie, Medusa venom will recite Becca Hirani, May Kelly, Connor PowlesAnd Ella Starbuck.

The trailer for this movie looks like thinly veiled porn, but if done right this could be a delightful horror film. With its predecessor sporting an incredibly low 2.8/10 IMDb score, Medusa venom he has a pretty low bar to overcome. If you like attractive women who take too much revenge on bad men and seemingly kill all men in their path, then this seems like the movie for you.

Honestly, there’s actually a lot of metaphors they could work with here if they’re interested, which I sincerely hope they do. The original Medusa of legend was turned into a monster after being raped in the temple of Athena and the allusion to the myth is quite evident in these films as women turn into snake monsters when men abuse them.

I think there could be a lot for a director to say about how abuse can affect a person and how the world treats them after the abuse occurs. I don’t think this particular film will be very subtle or nuanced in its message, but the genre of horror is an often overlooked genre for many deep and meaningful critiques of cultural lies. So while I don’t have much faith that this movie is going to deliver a very deep message, I think if they try, then this will have the makings of an okay horror movie that is still worth watching. Watch the trailer and let me know what you think.

Will they shed their skin on a porn-level plot or will this just amount to a movie made to put attractive women in sexy clothes?
