Yesterday, Adult Swim announced it has cut ties with Rick and Morti co-creator and voice actor Justin Roland while facing misdemeanor charges of home battery and false confinement. It has now been announced that he has been cut from two other animated shows that he has created, including Solar opposites And Koala man.
Variety reports that both shows will continue but without Roiland’s involvement. A statement from 20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals confirmed, “We have ended our association with Justin Roiland.” This shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Rick and Morti will continue even without Roiland’s involvement and they are currently trying to recast the main characters of Rick and Morty. There is a possibility that this could delay Season 7, which is still in development.
Solar opposites follows a “family of aliens who crash land on Earth after their utopian home planet, Schlorp, is destroyed by an asteroid. While they had hoped to find an uninhabited world to repopulate, they must now learn to live among humans on our overpopulated planet and are torn whether to love or hate their new life.
Koala man follows Kevin, a middle-aged dad who also has a not-so-secret identity… Koala Man, whose only superpower is a burning passion to follow the rules and shut down petty crime in the city of Dapto. He’ll do “whatever it takes to defeat evil masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take the trash cans down on the right days.”
