How many times have you watched a movie in silence in front of an adult and suddenly, without warning, skip a scene that makes you feel the worst of embarrassments. Well, just to avoid having those embarrassing moments, these crime movies are rated R, however, you can watch them with your parents, in-laws or anyone else without fearing that there is an inappropriate part.

One of the best crime films of recent years is “Prisoners”, a thriller by Denis Villeneuve, starring Jake Gylenhaal and Hugh Jackman. The story follows a detective and two families who are looking for two missing girls, who appear to have been kidnapped by a mentally challenged young man, and who are under pressure to reveal the truth. Hyenas

Despite being a Quentin Tarantino title not suitable for minors, ‘Reservoir Dogs’ is a crime film that you can watch in front of your parents without any problem, unless violent scenes are also prohibited. Either way, the story of this 1992 film starring Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and others follows a group of criminals whose confidence is tested after a botched heist. I remember

Along the same lines, Christopher Nolan also has one of the best R-rated crime films with no explicit scenes. This is ‘Memento’ starring Guy Pearce who brings to life Leonard Shelby, a man whose memory is damaged after an accident that resulted in the murder of his wife, and who now must take revenge on those responsible. Available on Claro, Lionsgate+ and Amazon Prime Video.

Update

With a good touch of sci-fi and action, we have ‘Updrade’, a film directed by Leigh Whannel and starring Logan Marshall-Green, which brings to life a man who also loses his wife in a botched robbery. Now he is rebuilt with some improvements to his body and goes to seek revenge on the thugs who destroyed his life. Available on YouTube and Amazon PrimeVideo.

Three ads for one crime

Starring Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson, among others, ‘Three Commercials for One Crime’ is a drama by Martin McDonagh. It’s about a woman who had a daughter, who was killed, and who now denounces the incompetent police for doing nothing, and that she has no interest in doing anything to solve the case. Available on Star+.

Finally, a film that has no graphically sexual scenes anywhere is David Fincher’s ‘Zodiac’, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo. The story is based on the real killer known as “El Zodiaco”, who, after his brutal crimes, left some clues for the police to catch him, but they never succeeded.
