Different streaming platforms are gaining traction in the film and television industry with each passing year. According to data offered by Kantar, collected by GECA, a Spanish audiovisual research company, these services maintain their constant growth: from 23 January more than 65.2% of Spanish families own at least one. As for the main streaming platforms in Spain, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ are the three most popular. Of users of any on-demand content, 72.1% subscribe to Netflix, 68.2% to Prime Video and 33.5% to Disney+. By very little and with 31.4%, HBO Max remains off the podium.

Despite the general growth in the presence of platforms in Spanish homes, almost all of them have experienced a slight decline in subscriptions. The only ones that are saved are Apple TV+, Filmin and Mitele Plus, which, well below the previous four, They have no more than 5% of the total season tickets in Spain.
One of the moves that some platforms are encouraging themselves to make or, at least, are studying the possibility of doing so, is to incorporate a plan with ads into their subscription whose price is lower than usual. The results shared by GECA reveal that 50.6% of users consider the existence of this option positively 20.1% would accept this change if accompanied by a reduction in costs. 29.3% consider the incorporation of this plan something negative, even if it means a drop in prices.
If we go into specific platforms, in October 52.1% of Netflix subscribers admitted that they would prefer to keep their current ad-free plan if it kept the same price, while 34.3% thought they would try the cheapest plan with ads. From 23 January Only 8.6% of users who currently have access to Netflix in Spain declare that they have contracted the new subscription with advertising, at a price of 5.59 euros per month. Of the users who switched to this new option, 51.1% were not Netflix customers before the platform offered it, 29% abandoned the basic plan (you can watch on 1 device at a time, in HD and download on 1 device at the same time now for 7.99 euros per month) on switching and 7.3% on the standard plan (watch on 2 devices at the same time, in Full HD and download on two devices for 12.99 euros per month).
As for the percentage of people who have more than one streaming service, there is a decrease dating back to the lowest level in the last two years (62.5%). Of people who have at least 2 platforms, 47.9% have two, 41.4% three, 4.7% four, 4.5% five, and 1.5% six or more.
