Brendan Fraser is back in the limelight for all things not tall. The actor is now picking up awards for his work in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale,” including a Critic Choice Award and a Golden Globe nomination. and plays strong in the race for the Oscars, awards for which we will know the nominations on Tuesday 24 January. While promoting her new job, she gave many interviews in which she reviewed what her career has been, particularly promising in the 1990s and early 2000s, although it was interrupted by abuse and depression. One of his most popular works was as adventurer Rick O’Connell in ‘The mummy (The mummy)’ and ‘The Mummy Returns (The return of the mummy)’ and this Friday, January 20, he appeared in a double session of these films at the Prince Charles Cinema in London to surprise their fans.

“Thank you. Friday night in Leicester Square”says Fraser in the video, “I started watching movies across the street, I saw ‘Star Wars’ in 1977 and it changed my life, it made me want to make movies. I’m proud to be here tonight because this is a film that was filmed in the UK, you should know, it was filmed in Shepperton and we also filmed in Morocco. The second too. Be proud. Thanks for being here.
We had no idea what kind of movie we were making when we did it, We didn’t know if it was drama, comedy, action, horror, more action all rolled into one. No idea. we tested it with an English audience. Thanks for that.” Between jokes, the actor asks the audience who has seen the film and who hasn’t, and the (apparently) only person who will be there that night spoils him: “The Protagonist Gets the Girl”

Fraser closes the presentation with a look at his co-stars, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo and Oded Fehr, and a message to the audience: “If you have the opportunity, go see ‘The Whale’ in February“. Aronofsky is new after ‘Mother!’ It arrives in Spanish cinemas after going through all the festivals that have taken place and will take place on January 27th. It’s a drama about a lonely, morbidly obese English teacher who tries to reconnect with his teenage daughter at the end of her life.
The cast is completed by Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, Samantha Morton, Ty Simpkins and Sathya Sridharan.
Open to a fourth installment
Although ‘The Mummy’ franchise continued without Weisz or public support in 2008’s ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ and had a reboot with Tom Cruise in 2017, continued fan interest in the franchise and the revival by Frasen have opened the door to a possible fourth installment of the saga, in which the actor would be happy to participate. In a meeting with GQ magazine and when asked if he would be willing to return to the character, Fraser answered bluntly “Sure, do you have a script?”, though not sure if it would work the same way again. As for Cruise’s reboot, which neither drew the masses to the movies nor won over critics, Fraser believes the problem was that it wasn’t so much funny as terrifying: “It was like a horror movie, and ‘The Mummy’ is supposed to be a thrilling ride, but not terrifying or terrifying.” For him, the essential elements of the saga and what keeps theaters still running double runs of films and filling theaters today is the perfect component of adventure for the whole family.
