Trailer for BEL-AIR Season 2 – “Live by your own rules”

Peacock has released a full trailer for the upcoming second season of their hit series Bel Airon which it is based Will Smithit’s the classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. This is a much more dramatic version of the story, set in modern-day Los Angeles and follows Will’s “complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated residences of Bel-Air. As these two worlds collide, Will comes to grips with the power of second chances as he navigates the conflicts, emotions and prejudices of a world very different from the only one he has ever known.

Season 2 of Bel-Air picks up with “Will at a crossroads when a new figure enters his life who challenges what he learned in Bel-Air and vies for control of his influence. He juggles as he navigates his home life with the Banks family and tries to rebuild the trust that was shattered at the end of last season. We’ll see Will and Carlton’s brotherhood begin to evolve as they grow closer, but they continue to challenge each other about their differences. We will also see Hilary evolve as she becomes more of a boss in her world of influencers and how that affects her relationship with Jazz, and will also highlight the relatable struggles around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family as they try to forge their own career. paths and reconnect to the things that are important to them.

Showrunner, writer and executive producer Carla Banks Waddles he said, “In Season 2, the show will continue to find ways to push it further and feel refreshing and unique while also honoring the heart of the legacy series. Last season was all about introducing the world of the Banks family, and this season we’re going to delve deeper into some of the themes we touched on: what it really means to be family even when it’s challenging. How to rebuild trust within a family? How do you find your way, your individualism within a family? We’ll also be exploring Will’s character beyond feeling like a fish out of water. Now he’s struggling to find a balance between maintaining his independence and his West Philly identity, while being open to new opportunities for himself in Bel-Air. Viv and Phil are also trying to find a balance while being parents of teenagers who think they have all the answers, allowing Will and their children the freedom to make their own decisions, while also guiding with a gentle and sometimes firm hand.

“We like that the Banks family is ambitious, but more importantly, they are approachable and grounded. The entire cast brings so much of themselves to this show: talent and enthusiasm, but also a real respect and genuine love and caring for these characters and their relationships. I love talking to them and hearing how these characters see and live. It all leads up to a very collaborative and rich storytelling process that feels authentic.

The response from fans in Season 1 has been electrifying, and we couldn’t be more excited to have Carla Waddles take the reins as showrunner for Season 2. EVERYONE is ready to level up in this new chapter, especially Will, who is determined to become a man himself after falling out with Lou and the Banks family in the Season 1 finale. The themes of confidence, pride and ambition are at the fore and all of our characters find themselves at a unique crossroads that will change their lives.

The series features an ensemble cast led by Jabari Banks as Will, and is joined by Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freemann, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Giordano L. Joneg and Simon Joy Jones.

The second season of Bel-Air will be released on Peacock on February 23, 2023
