James Gunn wants to bring the cast of “Guardians of the Galaxy” to Washington

James Gunn may top Guardians of the Galaxy, but not the actors and actresses who play him. The director will release the end of his trilogy at Marvel on May 5 (not counting the “Happy Holiday Special”), “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, and then for now he’ll end his relationship with them and focus on his new position in the competition as co-head of DC Studios.

But ending something doesn’t mean forgetting it and in an interview with Empire, The director has assured that he intends to continue working with the team he met at Marvel: “This cast is like my family. I can’t tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan. But I also know that I will be working with all of those people individually again. Probably in my other work.she says between laughter.

Indeed Gunn, who already has two projects for DC, ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘The Peacemaker’, has already transferred from one company to another Michael Rooker, Steve Agee, Sean Gunn and Chukwudi Iwuji. In Marvel, Rooker is Yondu and in DC he is Savant; Agee is Gef, who is killed by Yondu, and John Economos, employee of Amanda Waller; Gunn is Kraglin alongside the Guardians and Weasel and Calendar Man in DC; and Iwuji went from playing Clemson Murn in ‘The Peacemaker’ to signing on as a High Evolutionary in ‘Vol. 3’.

In the same Empire report, in the issue focusing on the premiere of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, Gunn describes his work on the third installment of Guardians as the “daily work”as he calls it this first phase of development and planning for the future of DC Studios “a very healthy part-time job requiring at least another 40-60 hours a week.”

The end of the Guardians saga

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ once again stars Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Saldaña as Gamora, Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Gillian as Nebula and Klementieff as Mantis. They were joined by Will Poulter as the fearsome Adam Warlock, of which we have already seen a first image with his overalls. It is the debut of the iconic comic book character Warlock on the big screen and connects this installment to volume 2, in which Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) he decides to create a powerful being capable of defeating the Guardians once and for all. Of course, while he’s clearly not a nice guy, about what we’ll see from Adam, Gunn has explained “He’s an early form of Warlock, fresh out of chrysalis, and doesn’t understand life very well. Basically a kid.” The film will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
