Jordan, who also starred in Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, will once again take on the role of John Clark, CIA agent turned Navy SEAL, who appeared in Jack Ryan’s spy books. Clark was also the protagonist of the two novels, Without Remorse And Rainbow Sixwhich ended up getting a video game franchise.
Remorse told Clark’s origin story and was released on Amazon Prime Video due to the pandemic. Paramount will release Rainbow in theaters.
Here is the description of the book by Rainbow Six:
Over the course of nine novels, Tom Clancy’s “genius for grand, gripping plots” and his “natural storytelling gift” (The New York Times Magazine) have enthralled hundreds of millions of readers and made him one of the foremost storytellers of the our time. Rainbow Six, however, goes beyond anything he’s done before.
At its center is John Clark, the former Navy SEAL from Without Remorse, well known from several of Clancy’s novels as a master of covert operational missions. Whether hunting warlords in Japan, drug lords in Colombia or nuclear terrorists in the United States, Clark is efficient and deadly, but he too has ghosts in his past, demons that must be exorcised. . And nothing is more demonic than the danger he faces in Rainbow Six.
Newly appointed head of an international task force dedicated to fighting terrorism, Clark is eager to set his teeth on a new mission, but the opportunities are starting to arrive thicker and faster than he could have expected: an accident in a Swiss bank, the kidnapping of an international trader in Germany, a terrible break-in at an amusement park in Spain.
Each episode feels separate, unobtrusive, but the timing disturbs Clark. Is there a connection? Is it tested? With the help of his close associates, executive officer Alistair Stanley and strike team leaders Domingo Chavez and Peter Covington, Clark tries to figure out where all this activity is heading, but there’s no way to predict the true threat: a group of terrorists like no other in the world has ever encountered, a group of men and women so extreme that their success could literally mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
whatsoever and was made during the pandemic. With the theatrical release in flux, Paramount has offloaded the film to Amazon, where it premiered on April 30, 2021.
