“Argentina, 1985” Filmmaker Santiago Miter signs with CAA

EXCLUSIVE: Argentinian filmmaker Santiago Miter (Argentina, 1985) has signed a representation with CAA.

Miter is a writer, director and producer whose most recent feature film is Argentina, 1985, won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film last week. The film, produced in association with Amazon Studios, follows a team of lawyers as they take on the leaders of Argentina’s military dictatorship in the 1980s. The film premiered in competition at the 79th Venice Film Festival, was named one of the top five foreign language films of 2022 by the National Board of Review and was shortlisted for Best International Film at the 95th Academy Awards.

Miter is also best known for its features including pauline (2015), The summit (2017) and The student (2011) – after winning the Havana Film Festival in New York’s Havana Star Award for Best Director for his work on the first title. In 2016 he was appointed as a jury member of the International Critics’ Week of the Cannes Film Festival and his films have a total of more than 50 awards from major festivals such as Cannes, the San Sebastián Film Festival, the Locarno Film Festival, the Beijing film festival and the Chicago Film Festival.

He will continue to be represented by Axel Kuschevatzky on Infinity Hill.
