After the success of ‘Champions’ and inspiring an American remake that hits theaters in no time, the sequel, ‘Campeonex’, confirms its release date for this summer. Said sequel, also directed by Javier Fesser, reunites the cast of the original, a story that places emphasis on the desire to excel of people with different abilities.

On August 18, ‘Campeonex’ will be released in cinemas throughout Spain, a film in which we will meet again with Jesús Vidal, Gloria Ramos, Sergio Olmos, Jesús Lago Solís, José de Luna, Fran Fuentes, Alberto Nieto, Roberto Chinchilla and Stefan López , and that It was filmed in different locations in the Community of Madrid for a few weeks that Fesser seems to have enjoyed himself very much. “Shooting this film was a real privilege”says the director in the press release shared by Universal.

Fesser, in addition to directing, signs the script with David Marqués, co-author of the first chapter and Athenea Mataactress who brought the character of Sonia to life in the original.
Nominated for 3 Goya Awards, including Best Film, ‘Campeones’ was a box office success, attracting 3.5 million viewers and closing its passage in cinemas, after more than 16 months in theaters, with a collection of almost 20 million euros.
