VELMA is an unfunny and mean series and has a 7% fan rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Wow, I honestly can’t believe it’s adult themed Scooby-Doo-animated series inspired Velma it was even made. It’s such a terribly written show that it’s completely pointless, mean, tasteless, and insanely unfunny. It’s like the writers went out of their way to make the series so bad, I mean… seriously!? Who thought this stuff was funny!?

The first episode starts with the cockroaches having sex for no reason. That should be enough to shut people down and save them. But, if you keep going, you’ll end up with naked cartoon teenagers in a cat fight, and Velma saying, “This is my story, told my way. And it starts with a murder, bitch.” Ugh.

This is supposed to be a more “grown up” version of Scooby Doo, but the humor is ridiculously juvenile and adolescent, and feels like it was written by high schoolers in need of some serious therapy.

I know some of you might be interested in watching it just to hate it, but I’m telling you… IT’S NOT WORTH ANYONE’S TIME. This is such an absolute crap show and currently has a 7% fan rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

• “I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW. This is 101 on how to kill a franchise. They just destroyed the Scooby doo franchise with this show. There is no going back with how awful this show is…it looks like it was literally written by a robot ai…”

• “I had to put salt and lemon in my eyes to clean them after seeing this. Has anyone else lost their sight?”

• “It’s not worth looking at unless you deem it absolutely necessary to flex a self-lobotomy.”

• “I have no idea who this show is made for. He fails in every possible way to write and make a cartoon for any genre. It’s not a comedy, it’s not a drama, it’s not science fiction and it’s not nostalgic because this is not Scooby-Doo. It was a hate-filled character assassination of what came before, and the characters were only related to their original counterparts at the best of times. I don’t mind that the characters’ races have been mixed, but at least they’re recognizable as what came before them. Norville doesn’t look or act or sound like Shaggy Rogers in any way, shape or form. None of the characters have the qualities that made them part of the team. The writing was horrendous and insulted both its intellectual property, fan base, and just casual viewers. If this had a second season, it would be a parody of all the animated series that came before it and completely unfair uses of money and animated talent. As far as I know, Mindy Kaling has only read the first sentence of a Wikipedia article about Scooby Doo at one point and has some form of inherent hatred towards the history of the show.

And the negative comments go on and on! I won’t watch any more episodes of Velma. I’m 100% out and think HBO Max should be refunding people’s monthly subscriptions for allowing this show to be made and released. I’m seriously completely baffled as to how this series actually got the green light and came to fruition. It’s the worst ever!
