Filtered photo reveals enigmatic ‘Madame Web’ logo featuring Dakota Johnson

Sony continues with plans for what will be the next steps in its Spiderman Universe, which has already delivered the two “Venom” stories, as well as “Morbius”. Now, a photo has been leaked from the recording set of ‘Madame Web’, in which we see for the first time what will be the logo of the film starring Dakota Johnson, and which reveals some puzzles.

Cinematographer Duane Charles Manwiller posted a photography of the recording set of ‘Ms Web’ on his Instagram account (via The Direct). In the image you can see the clapperboard of the film production, with his name on it, next to assistant director Darrin Prescott, head of the second unit, which deals with some support scenes for the Sony film.

In the filtered photograph you can see the logo of ‘Ms Web’, just like a red spider walking on it. The web-slinging animal is purple-red, and from one of its paws you can see the silhouette of Dakota Johnson, who will give life to Cassandra Webb, and from which it can be inferred that it could be that she bit her powers .

With this image, it seems Sony also wants a radioactive spider bite to empower Madame Web, when Dakota Johnson makes her debut as Cassandra Web. It is known that, in the same way, Peter Parker also obtained his abilities from him, so it would be another of the connections with the wall-crawler, on which he has been speculating for a few months.

Where does Madame Web get her powers from in the comics?

Madame Web in the comics has psychic powers, with which she can replace her blindness and inability to move. While it’s never clarified where those abilities of hers come from, she has had visions of her powers since she was a child, which have increased over the years. It is believed that this powerful clairvoyant owes her abilities to the Web of Life.

If this image can confirm that “Madame Web” owes her powers to a spider bite, it could have further implications for this character’s origin. Furthermore this, added to the rumors about the appearance of Spider-Man, could be the first film to present Spider-Man who belongs to this spider universe, be it that of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire or an entirely different one.

Either way, there’s still plenty of time to know for sure, but the first images, and possibly the first trailer, of the Sony film are expected to be revealed later in the year. ‘Madame Web’ will be released in theaters on February 16, 2024.
