One of the sweetest moments during the 80th Golden Globes came when dragon house won the Best Television Series Drama award on Tuesday, January 11th. actors Milly Alcock, 22, and Emma D’Arcy, 30, who play Rhaenyra Targaryen at different ages in the fantasy show, hugged on stage and laughed as they celebrated their victory.

Emma and Milly joined the director of the series. Miguel Sapochnik as he delivered a moving acceptance speech for the show, including thanking HBO for allowing them to perform the War of Thrones cleave. It included a big nod to the stars of the show. “Can I slap these amazing actors? We had a great cast. Absolutely amazing. I don’t know what else to say. They were amazing,” she said.
After the actors took the stage, Milly quickly ran up to Emma and hugged her co-star. As Miguel delivered her heartwarming speech, Milly was seen laughing as Emma hugged her, clearly very excited about her victory. Emma wore a black dress for the occasion, and Emma wore a deep black gown with silver designs all over it.
Also dragon house Winner Emma, who is non-binary and uses their pronouns, was also nominated for Best Actress, opening up about what the accolade meant in an interview with Y! News. “When I was starting out, I really felt like I had to present myself as a woman to be successful in this industry,” they told the outlet. “It wasn’t sustainable and I stopped pretending. And, strangely, I was nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes at the time, which is wonderfully ironic.”
He War of Thrones the spinoff outperformed other mainline shows, including Better call Saul, La Corona, Ozark, Y Separation for the category. Unfortunately, Emma didn’t win the Best Actress award. Instead he went to zendaia for his role in Euphoria.
