Many films are successful, but not all remain classics over the years. ‘Titanic’ is one of them: 25 years ago the film written and directed by James Cameron made us fall in love for the first time with that epic couple with a tragic ending composed by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. On the occasion of its silver anniversary, we can enjoy a new trailer and a new promotional poster, as well as its theatrical re-release.

‘Titanic’ will be back in theaters from February 10th, the weekend before Valentine’s Day, an ideal date to relive that love that went beyond the social barriers of the time and which stands together with ‘Casablanca’ as one of the most loved novels in the history of cinema. Its remastered version will be available only in 3D and special formats such as the High Rate Frame, which allows you to include more frames per second to give a smoother result. On the other hand, now that Cameron has verified that Jack had to sacrifice himself for Rose, there’s no reason to complain about not enjoying this iconic movie again on the big screen.

The film broke a record at the 1998 Oscars, where it won 11 statuettes, including nearly every non-acting category: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Dramatic Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best visual effects. Winslet was nominated for her work, but she wouldn’t win her first Oscar until ten years later, with “The Reader.”

Upon its release in 1997, ‘Titanic’ became a box office hit, peaking at number one. It is currently located in number 3 one of the highest-grossing films in history, with ‘Avatar’ topping the list, also written and directed by James Cameron and whose sequel led to his reunion with Kate Winslet.

‘Titanic’ is currently available at Movistar+ and for rent on Apple TV+, Prime Video and Rakuten TV.
