Along with ‘Terrifier 2’, ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ is one of the horror films that will be released in 2023, with the promise of bringing small productions to high levels of box office receipts and offering fans of the genre new stories. Now, the title of the yellow bear, transformed into a ferocious killer, has released a new trailer as a prelude to the premiere.
On Dread Central’s YouTube channel, a new preview of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’, which comes with never-before-seen footage from the slasher based on Alan Alexander Milne’s characters. The video reveals in a few seconds the attempt of several young people to survive the massacre of Winni and Pimpi, who have now become murderers after the abandonment of Christopher Robin.
The trailer comes in preparation for the US premiere of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’, which will be on February 15th. However, in Mexico and some parts of Latin America, Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s horror will arrive on January 26 in the cinemas of Cinépolis, Cinemex and some other local chains.
This film was scheduled to be released theatrically once the rights to the characters, not Disney’s, fell into the public domain. In this way, there is no way that the house of mice could be involved in its premiere, although several media reports that there may still be some legal problems.

What is “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” about?
The story of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ with Amber Doig-Thorne and Danielle Scottwhich give life to a group of friends who spent a few peaceful days, until some savages, disguised as malevolent bears and terrifying pigs, began to destroy, and to look for victims with which they could quench their thirst and hunger.
The story begins with Christopher Robin, the boy who has made friends in the 100 Acre Wood. Everything changes when the boy has to go to university, and he abandons his classmates. It is then that only Winnie and Piglet remain alive, but on the verge of death from hunger and thirst that the abandonment has generated, but they refuse to give up and become murderers.
The announcement of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” was so relevant to the Internet that the director of the film confirmed that he is already working on a second part, which will further expand the range of characters from the 100 Acre Wood. But that’s not all, because he also plans to bring more protagonists of children’s stories into the horror field.
This new wave of character adaptations for children will lead to Peter Pan, Bambi, Heidi and even Thor becoming the protagonists of a horror film. Perhaps this is a new trend that will continue for the next few years, but it started due to the loss of rights to many of these characters from children’s stories.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’s theatrical release in Mexico is just a few weeks away, while in other parts of the world it will reach until February. In any case, we have to wait and see what they have prepared with this film that promises a wild adventure.
