‘Dune: Part 2’ Wraps Filming But Adds ‘Watchmen’ Actor

According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Blake Nelson has joined the extensive cast of ‘Dunes: part 2’, in which Christopher Walker, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux and Austin Butler are already found as the new faces who will appear in the sequel by Denis Villeneuve. In addition, it will also have the return of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, among many others.

However, unlike the stellar signings of Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and others, Tim Blake Nelson secretly joined ‘Dune 2’, and the news did not spread. THR says that although the ‘Watchmen’ actor joined the production a few months ago, now is when he will go public. Pretty curious news, and it usually happens very often in Hollywood productions.

In addition to the “Watchmen” series for HBO, Tim Blake Nelson starred in ‘The alley of lost souls’ by Guillermo del Toro, and also in ‘The Cabinet of Curiosities’ for Netflix, in the chapter of ‘El trastero 36 by Guillermo Navarro. Who will be Tim Blake Nelson in ‘Dune: Part 2?

Though Tim Blake’s signing has so far been revealed, there’s no word on what his role will be in ‘Dune 2.’ However, some theorize that he could give life to Count Fenring, a character created by Frank Herbert in his saga of science fiction novels. He is a tactical assassin for the Corrino Empire and served as an Imperial agent on Arrakis during the Harkonnen rule.

On the other hand, the new “Dune: Part 2” signings have characters confirmed in the sequel. The first of them is Christopher Walken, who will give birth to Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh will be his daughter, or also known as Princess Irulan Corrino, while Léa Seydoux will play Lady Margot. And finally, Austin Butler will play Feyd-Rautha.

‘Dune: Part 2’ opens on November 3, 2023, after bringing forward the release date, due to the changes that occurred at Warner Bros. Discovery.
