Hilarious fake featurette for Christopher Nolan’s OPPENHEIMER – “Dropping a Real Nuke”

I have an incredibly funny mock fan-made featurette for you to watch today Christopher Nolanthe long-awaited film Oppenheimer titled “Dropping A Real Nuke”.

The film is the protagonist Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II. The film has been described as an “epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the heart-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world to save it.”

While making the film, Nolan had a goal to create a nuclear explosion without using any CGI. He said, “I think I’m recreating the Trinity test [the first nuclear weapon detonation, in New Mexico] without the use of computer graphics, it was a great challenge to face. Andrew Jackson — my visual effects supervisor, I brought him on early — was looking at how we could do practically many of the film’s visuals, from the depiction of quantum dynamics and quantum physics to the Trinity test itself, to the recreation, with my team, Los Alamos on a mesa in New Mexico with extraordinary weather conditions, a lot of which were needed for the film, in terms of the very harsh conditions out there – there were huge practical challenges.”

This featurette focuses on aspects of the film and jokes that Nolan and his team had to detonate an actual atomic bomb to get the perfect shot for the film. This video made me laugh and I hope you like it!

Murphy is joined in the film by Emilia Blunt as biologist and botanist Kitty Oppenheimer; Robert Downey Jr. as founding commissioner of the US Atomic Energy Commission Lewis Strauss; Matt Damon as Manhattan Project Director Leslie Groves Jr.; Florence Pug as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock; Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller; And Josh Hartnett as pioneered by American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. The film is also the protagonist Rami Malek, Gary Oldmann, Michael Angarano, Olivia Thirlby, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, Jason Clarke, David Krumholtz, Kenneth Branagh, And David Dastmalchian.

Oppenheimer will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.
