With all the work that James Gunn has on his plate right now with the management of DC Studios, writing a new one Superman movies and various other projects that we’re unaware of, I don’t see where you find the time to keep spending more time on social media. But it does.
In a recent director update, he talked about what he accomplished in one busy day and included writing a script for an unannounced DC series project:
“My day: I wrote 1/3 of an unannounced DC TV show; approved 100 VFX shots, referenced acting for Rocket, and provided edit notes for [Guardians of the Galaxy] Volume 3; and had two big DC Studios meetings.
One can only guess and speculate what that DC series project is. We already know he’s developing a second season of Pacifierand earlier he also teased two other projects and said one of them was related to the Suicide squad universe: “We’re working on something else now, another TV show related to that universe.”
So whatever he’s writing now could be one of these projects. Or maybe since he took over DC Studios, those projects have been scrapped and he’s working on something completely different. Speaking about taking on this new job, Gunn said:
“The opportunity to make DC as great as possible and the way it should be – this is why I am doing this job because I know Peter and I can do it. We have spent the last couple of days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the world. industry, the best writers in the industry begin to outline that eight- to 10-year plan of what it’s going to be like in theater, on TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.”
While we can all speculate what it could be, what kind of DC series do you wish it was!?
