Hugh Jackman addresses Bryan Singer’s behavior on the set of X-MEN

Hugh Jackman and Bryan singer have worked together and collaborated over the years at X-Men franchise. In the years since they worked together, Singer has been accused of sexual misconduct by several men, there have been reports of rough-and-tumble behavior on the sets of his films, and he has considerably fallen from grace.

During a recent interview with The Guardian, Jackman was asked about Singer and whether his alleged behavior had tainted his vision of the franchise that made him the huge star he is, and he replied: “You know, that’s a question. really, really complicated. “He went on to say:

“This was my first film in America, you have to understand; it was all so new to me. I think it’s fair to say that… There are some stories, you know… I think there are some ways of being on set that wouldn’t happen now. And I think things have changed for the better. There is much less tolerance for disrespectful, marginalizing, bullying, and any oppressive behavior. Now there’s no tolerance for that and people are going to speak up, and I think that’s great.

Regarding Singer and whether his bad reputation affected the legacy of those films, Jackman says:

“There are a lot of things at play there. X-Men was the turning point, I think, in terms of comic book movies and I think there’s a lot to be proud of. And there are definitely questions to be asked and I think should be asked. But I guess I don’t know how to respond elegantly. I think it’s complex and ultimately I look back with pride at what we’ve achieved and what momentum it started at.

He should be proud of his work in those movies! It’s not his fault that Singer took the path he did. Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3which will be released on November 8, 2024.
