In typical Netflix fashion, they canceled another solid series after just one season. That series is the horror mystery series 1899set on the ocean in a ship.

The show comes from the creators of Dark, Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, and has been described as “a visually stunning odyssey where nothing is as it seems”. The series is set in the year 1899 aboard Kerberos. “On their journey across the vast and treacherous Atlantic Ocean, the passengers of the Kerberos encounter the greatest mystery of their lives.”
Co-creators Odar and Friese revealed the news on Instagram, saying:
“With a heavy heart we have to tell you that ‘1899’ will not be renewed. We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a second and third season like we did with ‘Dark’. But sometimes things don’t go the way you planned. That’s life.
“We know this is going to disappoint millions of fans out there. But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of this wonderful adventure. We love you. Never forget.”
I was actually invested in this show, was excited about the future of the show and to see where the story took us, so it’s hard not to be disappointed that Netflix has decided to cancel it. Another bites the dust… what a pity.
