With one of the absolute classics of noir, we have ‘Chinatown’, detective novel by Roman Polanski, with Faye Dunaway and Jack Nicholson. The story follows Humphrey Bogart, a private investigator behind a mysterious case in Los Angeles involving corruption, incest and murder. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

Memories of murder

Now a classic, or at least one that will be revered as such for years to come is ‘Memories of Murder’, a masterpiece directed by Bong Joon-ho. The story is inspired by the first serial killer to appear in South Korea. However, while in the true story the criminal was caught a few years later, in this thriller the cops ended up with an unsolved case.

River of the Wind

And finally, a mystery thriller directed by Taylor Sheridan and starring two of Marvel’s biggest stars, Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner, in “Wind River.” The story follows an FBI agent who joins forces with a veteran tracker to find the killer responsible for crimes committed on an indigenous reservation. Available on Apple
