‘The communion girl’: something chases and terrifies Carla Campra in this exclusive clip

Next February, there’s one thing that will scare you more than Valentine’s Day: ‘The Communion Girl’, the new bet of Spanish horror cinema that hits theaters on the 10th of that month. Directed by Víctor García, the film takes us to May 1987, in an inland town, where the church prepares to celebrate a first communion mass. That same night, Sara (Carla Campra) and her best friend, Rebe (Aina Quiñones), go out to a party and hitchhike home. Along the way, one of the car’s passengers tries to intimidate them, but the worst is yet to come when someone crosses their path…

When they go out to investigate, they find only an old porcelain doll in the middle of the forest, and this is where the real nightmare will begin involving Sara, the doll, and the disappearance of a girl on her communion day. The film has already been seen at the Sitges Film Festival 2022, within the official section out of competition, and even if those of us who weren’t there will have to wait until February 10 to enjoy it in theaters, We bring you a little preview of ‘The Communion Girl’ so as to enter its terrifying atmosphere.

The group

Along with Campra and Quiñones, the cast is completed by Marc Soler, Carlos Oviedo, Olimpia Roch, Maria Molins and Manel Barceló among others. The screenplay is by Guillem Clua (‘The crooked lines of God’) based on a story by Alberto Marini and by the director himself, Víctor García. This is not García’s first inclusion in genre cinema and he has already been behind the scenes of, for example, ‘Hellraiser: Revelations’, ‘Gallows Hill’ or ‘An Affair to Die For’. ‘The Communion Girl’, February 10 in theaters.
