Hugh Jackman he always tends to go all out when playing Wolverine and ends up getting in crazy physical shape! It’s crazy to see how he gets ripped. The worst I’ve ever seen physically as Wolverine was in the first X-Men movie, and that’s because she didn’t have much time to prepare for the role.
Now, at age 54, Jackman is trying to get into the best shape of his life to play Wolverine again for Marvel Studios in Deadpool 3. Jackman was recently asked in an interview with Empire Podcast how he was going with his training for Wolverine’s return and was also asked if training has gotten easier, and this was his response:
“No, a lot harder. I’m doing eight shows a week right now, so I only lift weights three times a week. But I’ll lift once or twice a day as soon as this is over a month. And I’ll have six months to prepare,” and I’ll always have the same approach every time I walk in. I want him to be better than ever, be fitter than ever, more capable of doing things than ever. I just have the added incentive to take Ryan Reynolds out every day.”
It will be pretty cool to see Jackman as Wolverine and I’m curious to see what the best shape of his life will be at his age. All I hope is to finally see him in the classic Wolverine costume from the comics!
The movie will take place before the events of Logan, so it won’t interfere with that storyline. Jackman has spoken about this before, saying:
“It was actually really nice. I told him it happened before our movie, so it wouldn’t mess it up, like claws coming out of the grave. So, he was relieved by that, and he totally understood, that it was really a good idea.
“Neither of us wanted to screw it up and I was really proud of the movie and what we did, and it felt perfect and actually for five years, I’ve been really honest I can tell you, I was like, this is it. It was August 14th , I remember driving and it occurred to me that this would be a lot of fun. I’m probably going to have more fun in that movie than anything else and on August 13th I was like, I’m never going to play that part again.”
Director Shawn Levi he also previously teased the film’s R-rated violence and obscenity, saying:
“We’re writing, rewriting, developing, prepping ‘Deadpool’ every day now. It’s so much fun to laugh every day. It’s so delightful to listen and write and come up with these scenes where people talk shit. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s just a ‘Deadpool’ movie.”
Also, Wolverine and Deadpool aren’t going to get along in the movie. Wolverine hates Deadpool and Jackman has spoken about this before, saying:
“How do I classify it? Ten is very close, zero is reality, we are zero, we are opposites, we hate each other. I’m just talking from my point of view, [Logan’s] frustrated with him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, she can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to be punching him in the head a lot.
Deadpool 3 is scheduled for November 8, 2024.
