We have a damn new photo to share with you for the director Lee Cronin’S The Rise of the Evil Deadwhat stars Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Lily Sullivan (Picnic at Hanging Rock). One thing fans can always expect from this franchise is massive amounts of gore and gore.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Cronin opened up about the film and joked, “He ties you to a blood-fueled rocket. You can go down or stay until it explodes.
The director ended up using more than 6,500 liters (~1,700 gallons) of fake blood, some of which went home with him after days of shooting the film. He said:
“I had to hire an industrial kitchen to create the amount of blood we needed. When I was checking out, I had to warn the landlord: ‘You’ll find bloody handprints all over the apartment, but they’re not real, honest!’”
In the fifth Evil Dead film, “a road-weary Beth pays a belated visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three children alone in a cramped Los Angeles apartment. The sisters’ reunion is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious book in the bowels of Ellie’s building, which gives rise to demons that possess flesh and thrusts Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of the maternity. imaginable.”
The film is produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. Raimi previously teased that the film will be “terrifying” and “make people lose their minds”. Campbell said so too The Rise of the Evil Dead it will be a “much more harrowing” experience on an emotional level, saying:
“This is dark, this is pretty serious. Good and strong performances. She’s a single mom who now has to deal with this book. These days it’s more about the book. That book goes around, that book gets distributed, passed, le people try to get rid of it, they try to bury it or destroy it and they really can’t. So this book keeps popping up, so it’s really just another story of what happens if this book appears in this particular group of people alive and how they intersect.”
The film is also the protagonist Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davis (end), and Nell Fisher (Splendid isolation). The Rise of the Evil Dead is due in theaters on April 21, 2023 and I can’t wait!
