BCC has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Doctor who 60th Anniversary Special, which features the return of David Tenant like the fourteenth Doctor! This trailer gives us our best look at his surprising return!
Tennant will be joined by Catherine Tate, who played Donna during the run of The Tenth Doctor. They will be joined by Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Karl Collins.
The 60th anniversary special will include three episodes, due to air in November 2023. The BBC previously teased: “David Tennant, formerly known as the 10th Doctor, is now also known as the 14th Doctor. Confused? Don’t worry, he looks a little puzzled too.
Doctor who showrunner Russell T. Davies he said: “If you thought David Tennant’s appearance was a shocker, we have plenty more surprises to come. Ncuti’s path to the Fifteenth Doctor is filled with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun. And how does that relate to the return of the wonderful Donna Noble? How, what, why? We give you a year to speculate, and then all hell will break loose.”
Tennant previously spoke of stepping back into the role again, saying he was “worried it would be hard to get into the groove again, but it was simple. We have managed to keep the essence of the show and the world now has a very exciting time to look forward to. Doctor who it was a wonderful time in my life and it cuts through me like a stick of rock, so to be a part of that show, to go on that journey and to come back to it when i thought it was a memory has been an absolute gift.
After that three-episode run, the next version of the Doctor will be played Sex education star Ncuti Gatwa. Enjoy the trailer!
