“I haven’t done a musical before,” he told Empire in an interview. “I would like to try it. I’m not a great singer. I enjoyed singing in it Wild at heartI thought so, but since then I’ve blown my voice out for singing “Purple Rain” wrong in karaoke bars.
As for the musical Cage would like, he said, “I think I’d be a good Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar.”
Cage also noted that he was channeling Elvis Presley, adding, “I was trying to get closer to what it felt like to see Warhol’s beautiful collages of Elvis Presley as a cowboy with a six-shooter. I wanted to see or you can do it with film screening I also think if David Lynch could cast someone in one of his films he would want to cast Elvis as well so I think he was excited to go when I suggested it.
Jerry Bruckheimer recently teased that he is working on a third of the film National treasure Franchise. News of the film came as the producer was promoting the Disney+ spin-off series National Treasure: Edge of History.
“We said we wanted to do another one National treasure and they said, ‘Sure, let’s find a new cast,'” Bruckheimer told E! News. “At the same time, we developed National treasure for the theaters with Nicolas Cage – which we still are. That’s how it goes.”
