Z2 Comics has announced that they will be making a sequel to their comic Inked in blood with Ice Nine Kills. Inked in Blood II: Once Upon a Crime is a direct sequel that blends the real-world journey of famed theatrical metal pioneers with a claustrophobic, adrenaline-pumping dose of serial killer murders. The sequel brings together the architect of Ice Nine Kills Spencer Charnas with co-author Ryan J. Downey and artists Nino Cammarata and Giorgia Sposito with Mike Cortada make the cover. Here is the official synopsis:

Ice Nine Kills—Inked in Blood II escalates the tension from the first volume, introducing Max Charnas, the identical twin brother of INK mastermind Spencer Charnas, who hatches a plan to blackmail, frame, and destroy his brother. The new volume comes on at The Silver Scream Con, the real-world Massachusetts gathering that debuted last August, where the deals of blood and power still fly. The resulting spine-tingling journey packs more crunches and hooks than an Ice Nine Kills meltdown, with serial killers and doppelgängers paving a bloody path from panel to panel.

It should be a really fun time for horror fans. If you’re unfamiliar, Ice Nine Kills is a metal band that has been honing their sound for two decades. They are well known for their latest two albums, The Silver Scream and Welcome to Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2, which pay homage to a wide variety of 80s and 90s horror films and have an accompanying video. The videos often star actors and props from inspirational films. If you like horror movies, I really recommend you to check them out.

Inked in Blood II: Once Upon a Crime will be released in standard and deluxe hardcover editions in Fall 2023. The deluxe edition comes with a triptych print of Philip Sevi art prints and double-sided Charnas collectible coin. The oversized platinum editions will come signed by Charnas with an elegant box set, triptych of art prints, the collector’s coin and Ice Nine Kills double LP of Welcome to Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2 in an exclusive purple splatter vinyl variant.
