  • The Cult of the Lamb – Favorite Roguelike/City Run

    • Developer: Massive Monster

    • Publisher: Devolver Digital

When I saw the trailers of Lamb worship, it felt like a huge joke and everything was just going to be a meme machine or something. I wasn’t expecting much. Thankfully, while the game is very comical in many ways, it’s exceptionally well done. The gameplay is absolutely amazing and it’s great to play. Whether you’re busy making sure your followers don’t try to abandon your cult or kill false prophets and gods, the game is just plain fun. I highly recommend grabbing a copy ASAP and it’s on all major platforms, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4/5 and Xbox (affiliate link). Physical copies are available at select retailers, including GameStop (affiliate link).

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge – Favorite co-op game

    • Developer: Tribute Games

    • Publisher: Dotemu

I didn’t grow up going to arcades very often. Whenever I had to be in an arcade, there was almost always one particular game I wanted to play: anything Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game they had. I loved that up to four people could play. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge takes the same formula and feel and brings it into the modern age. You can have up to 6 players at the same time while playing a really fun side scrolling beat ’em up. The art is also great and really takes it to the next level. You can play this game on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4/5 and Xbox (affiliate link). Physical copies are also available at your favorite retailers, including GameStop (affiliate link).

  • Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons – Overall favorite

    • Developer: ArenaNet

    • Publisher: NCSoft

Guild Wars 2 it’s my favorite video game and so obviously its latest expansion would make it on my list. End of Dragons I brought back the land of Cantha and made it everything I’ve dreamed it could be for a long time Guild Wars: Factions! I remember being so excited to have Factions back in the day and loving it at first, but then Cantha just felt bland and boring. End of Dragons has breathed new life into the East Asian-inspired land with more color, more life, and a better story than Factions. I love how a reason was given why we haven’t had access to Cantha since the start of the game and why Cantha didn’t help when the whole world was in trouble. They had taken a very strong position of isolationism. I personally really liked the way the stories unfolded End of Dragons and we also got visual upgrades thanks to the DirectX11 update released not too long before and we got actual movie clips instead of just talking heads! I love everything! Also, I now have a Jade Bot which is very cute and very handy, as well as a boat. No complaints. you can play Guild Wars 2: Dragons’ End now on PC.

  • Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – Overall favorite

    • Developer: Bungie

    • Publisher: Bungie

When it comes to expansions, I don’t know if I enjoyed it all that much else The queen of witches. Between a revamp of a skill system, a challenging and enthralling campaign, weapon crafting, and a really intense raid, this expansion offered a lot to love. I’ve been at the heart of this franchise for five years and have never been so consistently involved in any game. I’m nearing an average of 2.5 hours a day Destiny and I don’t know if I will ever stop. This was Bungie showing the gaming world that they can create characters and campaigns that excel at gameplay as much as story, just like they did with the halo Games.

  • Marvel SNAP – Favorite Time Killer

    • Developer: Nuverse

    • Publisher: Numeroverso

I am a great card player. From Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon at a young age in Hearthstone almost every day for the past seven years, I’ve played a lot of card games. When I first saw Shot wonder, I thought it would be a simple cash grab with loot boxes (card packs) and little depth. But having Ben Brode (one of the original Hearthstone designers) as one of the lead designers adds a lot of love and clever design to the game. I downloaded it out of boredom, but now I play at least an hour a day and my wife is probably as addicted to the game as I am. The gameplay is clever, simple, and not about power, it’s about outsmarting your enemy. Coupled with the snappy gameplay, the progression for unlocking cards is as predatory as it gets. I don’t actually know how they are making any money because it’s so easy to unblock the cards. Either way, this game has great potential and offers a low barrier to entry, high mastery, and impressive replayability.

  • River City Girls 2 – Favorite game this year

    • Developer: WayForward

    • Publisher: WayForward, Arc System Works

I loved the first one River city girls. The music is phenomenal, the voice acting and writing are great, and the game itself is really fun. It’s hard to follow up on a sequel to such a great game, but River city girls 2 it knocked it out of the park. I haven’t finished the game yet, but I’m loving every minute of it. Even though it’s a sequel with a similar game, it still feels fresh and new. The composer made another great score and the writers had a lot of fun inserting some fun meta humor with the excellent writing. The voice acting in this game will make you wish more games could have this level of voice work. It has proven to be a fantastic addition to a great series.

  • The Dragones: Command of the Flame – Favorite nostalgia inducing game

    • Developer: Crazy Goat Games

    • Publisher: PQube

This game brought back all the feel of the game Heroes of Might and Magic III for me. Much of the gameplay is similar between the two games, but The Dragoness brings some new elements to the style. Each scenario you can choose from new game bonuses and you can unlock more as the game progresses. You also build a city that serves as your main base, so you don’t rebuild the same buildings every time you play the campaign. The graphics were good and the monster design was great. While it has a few drawbacks, overall the game is a lot of fun.
