United Kingdom resident Emmerald Barwise faced severe harassment and stalking after registering as an OnlyFans model to support her daughter, according to reports in British newspaper The Sun.
Barwise initially created her account in 2022 during a period of financial hardship, aiming to earn money as a single mother without producing explicit adult content. However, male subscribers immediately began demanding maximum erotica, claiming that payments would remain minimal unless she complied.

Subscribers later began offering Barwise financial compensation for in-person meetings that involved no physical contact. She agreed to the proposals, but later acknowledged that taking the meetings was a serious error.
Escalation to stalking and police involvement
The situation escalated when a regular subscriber confessed his love to Barwise during an in-person meeting. After she rejected his romantic advances, the client began pursuing and stalking her, forcing Barwise to contact the police to protect herself from him.
Online subscription platforms and safety
OnlyFans is a London-based internet content subscription service founded in 2016. The platform enables content creators to receive funding directly from subscribers through monthly memberships, tips, and pay-per-view media. While creators across various industries use the site, it is widely recognized for hosting adult content, where individual creators manage direct interactions and boundaries with paying users.
In the United Kingdom, stalking is categorized as a criminal offence involving a persistent pattern of unwanted contact that causes fear or distress. Victims of harassment who report cases to British law enforcement can receive police protection and guidance on handling persistent offenders.
Stigma after leaving adult content industry
Following the stalking incident, Barwise made the decision to leave the adult entertainment industry entirely. Despite ending her activity on the site, she continued to experience public condemnation and personal judgment.
Since leaving the platform, Barwise has struggled to establish healthy and lasting romantic relationships. She explained that prospective partners frequently humiliate and demean her as soon as they learn about her previous presence on OnlyFans.
Barwise said that the more she insisted she had never slept with anyone for money, the less prospective male partners appeared to believe her.
The report follows previous incidents involving adult content creators, including a case in the United States where law enforcement searched for an escaped stalker who pursued adult model Sophie Rain after mistakenly believing she was his girlfriend.
