The sixth and final season of hit comedy series Emily in Paris, starring Lily Collins, will premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 24.
Streaming service Netflix selected Christmas Eve to release the final batch of episodes, concluding the comedy series after six seasons. While Paris remains a central setting, the new season will expand Emily Cooper's European travels to Greece and Monaco.
Created by Darren Star, Emily in Paris follows an American marketing executive from Chicago who relocates to France for a job at a luxury marketing agency. Star, known for creating hit television series such as Sex and the City and Beverly Hills 90210, returns as showrunner to lead the final chapter of the comedy.
Emily and Gabriel in Greece
The new storyline follows the events of the fifth season, in which Emily moved to Rome to open a new branch for marketing firm Agence Grateau. During her time in Italy, she began a romance with Marcello Muratori, the heir to a family cashmere business. The couple eventually split, leading Emily to return to Paris where she received a surprising invitation.
Chef Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, learned that Emily was single again and sent her a postcard inviting her to meet him in Greece. Gabriel plans to join her before beginning a new job aboard a luxury yacht owned by billionaire Thomas Heatherton.
First-look images released by Netflix confirm that Emily and Gabriel reunite on location in Greece. Netflix has left it open whether the long-standing romantic partners will end up together in the final season.
Love triangles and returning cast
Emily's personal life is not the only story left unresolved heading into the final season. At the end of season five, Mindy Chen, played by Ashley Park, accepted a marriage proposal from Nicolas, played by Paul Forman. However, her former boyfriend Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount, appears unwilling to step out of her life completely.
New promotional images show Mindy spending time with Alfie, while Nicolas also appears alongside her in upcoming scenes. The love triangle threatens to complicate Mindy's romantic future as the series comes to a close.
Alongside Collins and Park, returning cast members for the final season include Lucas Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Bruno Gouery, Samuel Arnold, Lucien Laviscount, Minnie Driver and Paul Forman. Netflix confirmed that the full ensemble will return as the series wraps up Emily's story across Europe.
