Del Vecchio's Superyacht Moneikos Now Owned by Nikos Tsakos

The 62-meter superyacht Moneikos, built by Italian yard Codecasa, has reportedly changed hands, moving to Greek shipping magnate Nikos Tsakos after being spotted off Mykonos, known as the island of the winds.

The yacht belonged to Leonardo Del Vecchio, founder of eyewear company Luxottica, until his death in 2022. It was later listed for sale by brokers Royal Yacht International and IYC for 27.89 million euros, following renovations carried out in 2018 and 2020.

Layout and Design

Moneikos can comfortably host 16 guests across eight cabins and features an elevator connecting all decks. The owner's suite sits on the upper deck beneath the sundeck, offering a 180-degree panoramic view and can be used independently of the rest of the yacht for full privacy.

The interior, designed by Studio Dedalo, uses dark African wenge wood flooring and light maple wood partitions, with hand-applied lacquer ceiling finishes. The exterior, designed by Franco and Anna Della Role of studio Della Role, features dark stripes concealing large rectangular windows with dark tinted glass. The sundeck is mostly covered rather than open for sunbathing.
