DAZN will retain exclusive broadcasting rights to the Premier League and the Emirates FA Cup in Spain and Portugal until 2031. The agreement with England's top football league secures continued coverage of the country's leading club competition for the coming seasons, while the Emirates FA Cup will be added to the new rights period starting in the 2028-29 season.
Spanish and Portuguese subscribers will continue to have full coverage of the Premier League on DAZN, with every match available both live and on demand. The Emirates FA Cup, one of English football's most historic competitions, will also remain tied to the platform under the new rights cycle.
The Premier League is England's top-flight football division, while the Emirates FA Cup is the country's oldest domestic knockout competition. DAZN has broadcast the Premier League in Spain since 2019.
DAZN adds Eredivisie to football lineup
DAZN has also secured the rights to the Eredivisie, the top division of Dutch football, for the 2026-27 season, after those rights had previously belonged to Mediapro. The platform will show four matches per matchday, always including games involving Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord, three of the league's biggest clubs. The agreement also covers the Dutch Cup, the Dutch Super Cup and the Dutch women's league.
The addition of the Eredivisie expands a sports catalogue that already includes several major national and international competitions. This season DAZN will broadcast all of LaLiga Hypermotion, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Liga F. Its football offering sits alongside major American and motorsport events, including all of Formula 1, MotoGP, NASCAR and the World Superbike Championship (WSBK), plus 180 NBA regular-season games, the All-Star Weekend, playoffs and Conference Finals, and the NBA Finals on demand. The platform's lineup also includes all ACB basketball competitions, including Liga Endesa, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa Endesa, as well as extensive NFL coverage with five games a week, playoffs, the Super Bowl, Game Time and RedZone in English.
How LaLiga rights are split in Spain
The division of LaLiga EA Sports broadcasting rights between Movistar Plus and DAZN will continue to shape how fans watch the Spanish league. As tech outlet Xataka has noted, the two platforms reached a distribution agreement after each was awarded roughly 50% of the rights in the most recent auction.
Under that arrangement, subscribers to Movistar Plus's football package can access every match of each matchday, since the operator also integrates the fixtures assigned to DAZN. That makes Movistar Plus, owned by Telefonica, the only service offering the complete competition in one package.
DAZN's five matches per matchday
DAZN, for its part, keeps production and broadcasting rights to the five matches per matchday assigned to it in the rights split, one of which is free to watch, using its own team of presenters, commentators and analysts to give its broadcasts a distinct identity. According to Xataka, these matches are also available to Movistar Plus+ customers through the integration of DAZN's channels and app into the operator's platform.
In practice, the access model for fans is unchanged from previous seasons: those who subscribe to Movistar Plus+'s football package can follow all of LaLiga, while DAZN subscribers have access only to the five matches included in the platform's allotted package.
