A crocodile killed a woman bathing in a river at dawn in the Indian state of Odisha, according to Pragativadi.

The attack happened in the village of Damdarpatan, which had been flooded for a week. Sucritra Das, 46, had gone to the river for her morning wash when the reptile attacked and dragged her underwater.
Her slippers, a flashlight, a mobile phone and soap were later found on the riverbank.
Search efforts
Rescuers began searching for Das, but her body has not been found. Villagers said they had repeatedly encountered wild animals in the area and had asked authorities to run awareness campaigns about the danger of crocodile attacks.
The report noted that a 52-year-old man, Harihar Jena, was earlier killed by a saltwater crocodile in India.
