Coca-Cola updates packaging for Original Taste and Zero

Coca-Cola has unveiled updated packaging designs for Coca-Cola Original Taste and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar in Greece and Cyprus to unify its visual identity.

Coca-Cola updates packaging for Original Taste and Zero

Coca-Cola is refreshing the packaging for Coca-Cola Original Taste and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, evolving the visual identity of the global beverage brand. The updated design approach visually unifies both products while highlighting three core visual elements: a vibrant red colour, a dynamic ribbon wave, and the signature Spencerian script font.

Under the new look, Coca-Cola Original Taste features a modern appearance with increased emphasis on the primary branding features. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar introduces larger "Zero Sugar" lettering, a black dynamic ribbon, and a black cap on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles to help shoppers identify the zero-sugar option quickly and reliably on store shelves.

Polyethylene terephthalate, commonly known as PET, is a clear, lightweight, and recyclable plastic widely used for beverage bottles across the food and drink industry. The distinctive cursive Spencerian script has served as the trademark lettering for Coca-Cola since the late nineteenth century, making it one of the most recognizable commercial logotypes in retail history.

Design updates and product identity

Company officials stressed that the makeover applies strictly to visual packaging, leaving the internal product formulas unchanged. Both Coca-Cola Original Taste and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar retain their existing recipes, delivering the same flavor profile that consumers expect.

Gjorgji Hristov, the general manager of Coca-Cola Hellas for Greece and Cyprus, said the new visual identity modernises iconic elements that have defined the brand's long-standing relationship with consumers. Hristov added that the evolution strengthens Coca-Cola's unified presence for the future while boosting brand recognition and consistency across every consumer touchpoint in Greece.

Coca-Cola Hellas operates as the local business unit responsible for marketing and brand strategy across Greek and Cypriot markets. The Coca-Cola Company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, originally introduced Coca-Cola Zero Sugar as a sugar-free alternative intended to closely replicate the taste profile of its flagship original cola.

The company described the packaging redesign as an evolution that honors Coca-Cola's rich historical heritage while preserving the core visual identity that underpins its future market strategy.
