The audience found the cause of Maiza’s troubles in “Clone”: and this is not love for Diogo

The roots of these problems run deep enough.

The series “Clone” was released 20 years ago, and the audience is still discussing the behavior of the main characters. Particular attention is paid to Maiza, Lucas’s wife. The girl knew perfectly well that the young man was in love with another, but she nevertheless married him, and because of this she suffered all her life afterwards.

Maiza got together with Lucas, as she had previously dated his twin brother Diogo. Throughout the relationship, she constantly compared her husband with the deceased lover, who had a completely different character. Because of all this, Maiza and Lucas’ marriage was unhappy.

The audience drew attention to an important detail: none of the girl’s relatives ever appeared in the series. You might think she was an orphan, but Maiza studied at the same university as the rich man Diogo, beautifully dressed, she had a mobile phone, which was considered a luxury in those days. A lonely young student would hardly have allowed herself this.

Therefore, Maiza most likely had a family, and another well-to-do family. The parents did everything possible not to need the daughter, but apparently they did not give warmth and care. Most likely, the girl grew up with a lack of attention on their part. Hence the fear of loneliness, for the same reason she lived with a man who did not love her. If parents surrounded Maiza with love, she would have more respect for herself and would not tolerate Lucas’ betrayal.
