Katherine Heigl says she ‘never saw’ her daughter film ‘Grey’s Anatomy’: she was ‘afraid’ she ‘didn’t love me’

Being a new parent is tough, and going back to work after welcoming your baby can be even tougher. Katherine Heigl talked about how exciting it was to go back to work Grey’s Anatomy after adopting her daughter Naleigh in 2009, during an appearance on Intuition Monday 28 November.

Sarah Haines spoke about how a decade ago Katherine, 44, brought Naleigh, 14, on the classic talk show. After reflecting on past looks, the actress was moved to remember what it was like when she and her husband Joseph Kelly first he had his daughter. “Naleigh came to us at nine months and three days later I got on a plane and went to work in Atlanta, and in that moment, becoming a new mom, I was like, ‘I’ve done it. I understand. I can do it. They told us we can have it all. We can have careers and families and everything will be great. Everything will be OK. I’ve never seen that kid,” she said.

Katherine kept saying that as she worked at Grey, she bonded more with the triplets acting on set than with her daughter and revealed some of her fears. “I was working with three triplets, who were my goddaughter, and I spent more time with them than with my new daughter, and she bonded with my husband. Sure, he was with her. So I was always afraid of missing out on the opportunity to really bond with her,” she said. “And that she didn’t love me.”

Luckily, it’s clear that Katherine and her daughter share a special love for each other throughout this time. Naleigh was in the audience for the show to support the firefly trail Star. Shortly after receiving her daughter, the actress ended up dating Grey’s Anatomy in 2010. She recently pondered whether to return as Izzie Stevens in a January 2021 interview with It’s Daily Pop!🇧🇷 He said “never say never” but he also said “you know, I just don’t know”.

In addition to Naleigh, Katherine and her husband have another daughter and son. After Naleigh, the actress and musician adopted a second daughter. Adelaide, 10, in April 2012, and Katherine gave birth to a son Joshua, 5, December 2016.
