The United Kingdom won the two main categories at the 50th anniversary of the International Emmy Awards, held here in New York on Monday night. look won best drama series and Sex education won the Comedy Series Award. Check out the list of winners in all 15 categories below.
The Brits dominated this year’s awards, scoring seven points. France took two, the only other country with multiple wins. from Australia love on the spectrum won for Non-Scripted Entertainment and Iraq’s lost generation (France) won the documentary award.
“Television around the world has truly come of age,” said Bruce Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy. “What’s especially gratifying about this 50th anniversary is the number of countries around the world that produce world-class television shows and personalities and win Emmys.”
Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Ava DuVernay received the International Emmys’ Founders Award, which she presented when they see us Starring Blair Underwood. The Directorate Award went to Miky Lee, Vice President of CJ Group. It was moderated by South Korean actor Song Joong-ki.
Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller hosted the ceremony from the New York Hilton Midtown in Manhattan.
