“I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror”: Radcliffe expressed why he didn’t support Rowling

It is all the guilt of the children!

When author JK Rowling was bullied for talking about transgender people, the Harry Potter stars had to choose which side they were. Chief actor Daniel Radcliffe did not support the writer, and now he decided to explain why it happened.

It turned out that Radcliffe mainly thought of transgender children, including many Potter fans. The young actor said he just couldn’t help it, but speak out, because young viewers should have known that not everyone in the franchise is against them.

“The reason I felt that I really had to say something was because I met so much queer and transgender children who strongly identified with Potter. And so, after seeing their pain that day, I wanted them to know that not everyone in the franchise thinks in the same way (as Rowling does). I don’t think I could look at myself in the mirror if I said nothing, “the actor told Indiewire.
